The Prague Baroque orchestra Collegium 1704 and the vocal ensemble Collegium Vocale 1704 were founded in 2005 by conductor and harpsichordist Václav Luks. Since then, the ensemble has established a strong presence on both the European and international music scene and today ranks among the most distinctive interpreters of Baroque music. It performs at prestigious festivals and concert venues from Prague to Versailles.
At Vzlet, Collegium 1704 launches the chamber concert series Musical Journeys Through Europe — an invitation to a vibrant and adventurous exploration of Baroque music across continents and styles. Each evening offers a different encounter: outstanding soloists, chamber ensembles, and musical friends of Collegium 1704 from the Czech Republic and abroad.
Forget distance and formal stillness. Here, Baroque music is experienced differently — up close, emotionally, and in an atmosphere where everything feels natural. Feel free to come in jeans, bring a glass of wine, and let yourself be carried away by music that is three hundred years old and still has something to say.
